Take time to chew your food and analyse it’s taste and texture.   Appreciating the little pleasures in life is also to appreciate food. It will be instantly gratifying!

9/ Take your time

Don’t rush around trying to get everything done. Don’t do a botched job at work or put as little effort as possible into friendships.  Take time to do daily tasks and do them well regardless of the time it takes. Satisfaction comes from doing a job well, does it not?

10/ Stop bickering

Don’t fight, life is too short.  Living better is also trying to avoid conflict, bad feelings and being frustrated. Let these annoyances wash over you as it is just not worth getting upset!

11/ Don’t get out of bed straight away

Don’t be too keen to jump out of bed even if you have an exciting day ahead.  Stretch your body completely before turning to sit at the side of the bed.  Keep this seated position while stretching.  Once you feel more awake you can get up to start your day.

12/ Take some time for yourself in the morning

In the morning, give yourself time to wake up.  Don’t have breakfast in a rush.  Make breakfast and sit down to eat it outside or in your living room with a book in hand. If you aren’t hungry just drink a cup of tea. Don’t force anything. Try and give yourself time every day. If you need to, get up a bit earlier so you don’t have to rush.  Finish reading the article that you never got round to finishing or write little notes. It is a present for yourself.

13/ Ask questions instead talking about yourself

If we want to live better together we have to give people time.  If you always talk about yourself you might give off the impression that you know everything and are not interested in others.  Ask questions to make people feel involved in the conversation and to show that you are interested.

14/ Don’t expect things of people

You have invited your fiends to do lots of things this summer but they have never returned the invite.  Do things because you want to and don’t do things to receive thanks or gratitude.  Otherwise you will just be disappointed.
