7/ UHT milk
This will amaze you: milk can also be consumed later than indicated, so don’t be so fast to throw it out! UHT milk can be consumed up to two months after the best before date. Again, trust your sense of smell; with milk, you definitely won’t get it wrong!
8/ Biscuits
Even if they are made with fresh eggs (as certain packets are proud to mention), dry biscuits can be consumed without a problem after their expiry dates, as long as the packet remains sealed. For better preservation once opened, keep them in a biscuit tin, and they won’t go soft so quickly!
9/ Frozen foods
Frozen foods can be consumed a few months after the optimal date. If you freeze your own foods from fresh, don’t exceed two months in the freezer.
10/ Freeze-dried foods
That includes powdered foods, dried foods and food in sachets: coffees, sauces or even soups -they all keep very well, even after their expiration dates. The only risk is that they may lose their flavour, which can lessen with time.
11/ Sweets
Sugar has the (sole) advantage of being a preservative! Sweets, even past the expiry date, therefore pose no risk. At worst, their flavour will be slightly reduced.
