6/ Lids of throwaway cups
The throwaway cups from Starbucks, MacDonalds and other similar café chains pose a real ecological disaster for the planet. Take your own reusable enamel cup with you each time. It is much better for the environment and the flavour of your coffee!
7/ Straws
Who really needs a straw to stir their cocktail? There are no less than 8.3 million plastic straws littered across the beaches world-wide. Straw are a useless type of waste that only has a negative effect on the environment. Can we not do without them?
8/ Coffee stirrers or plastic spoons
The same goes for coffee stirrers which we can easily do without. Is it too much to ask to mix your tea or coffee by shaking your cup. If it’s throwaway, refuse it!
9/ Cutlery and plastic tableware
The Energy Transition Law should put France as the first country to ban single-use plastic tableware by 2020. Nevertheless, there are still some 4.73 billion plastic cups thrown away each year, which is the equivalent to 150 cups per second. This is a measure that was drastically needed!
10/ Plastic trays for ready-made meals and salads
There is a long list of plastic packaging which we often come across from salads boxes, to industrial cake packaging or takeaway deliveries to name just a few. These polluting packages serve no purpose as they could easily be substituted by something else that is home made. What’s more the flavour will be much better if you make your own meals!
