7/ Think of its family
This technique is not as ridiculous as it sounds, and it could well help you to calm your panic: by imagining that this poor little mite has a family somewhere (a mother, a brother or a child), this will make you treat it more humanely.
8/ Tell yourself that it doesn’t wish you any harm, and that you are the predator as far as spiders are concerned.
It’s not a dangerous fungus that you are harbouring under your roof -this little spider is much more terrified by the shrieks you let out because of his silent presence. Remind yourself that it is not going to rush at you, but simply try to get away from you as quickly as possible. Because you are its predator, not the other way around!
9/ Talk to them
Without doing so in public, try talking to a spider that you come across, instead of screaming and panicking. You’ll see, that could change everything.
10/ Try to understand where your fear or panic comes from
If after all of our advice you still can’t get rid of your phobia, you can consult a psychotherapist who will try to help you find the origin of this fear, and the solutions to this problem, which may be impacting on your daily life. You can also try out hypnosis.
11/ Hypnosis
Hypnosis is particularly good for treating addictions and phobias of all kinds: cigarettes, fear of flying, obesity, and why not fear of spiders too? Try it out, it just might work.
