11 phrases that vegetarians are sick of hearing

Vegetarianism, and to a lesser extent, veganism, are lifestyles that are developing more and more in our society in response to the environmental crisis that surrounds us. Because in fact, stopping eating meat can improve matters in terms of pollution, famine, deforestation and the poor treatment of animals. Vegetarians are dedicated to a common cause, for which we can all clearly see the benefits. But there are always the naysayers: here are 11 phrases that vegetarians hear daily, that they are surely sick of hearing!

1/ “Are you sure you don’t want a little taste” (waving a forkful of meat under your nose)

Um, no?! Do convictions count for nothing?!

2/ “Can’t you just remove the meat, or just eat what’s around it?”

How to explain…

3/ “Plants feel pain too you know”

Yes, we are constantly reminded that plants are living things as well, and that we are killing the vegetables when we eat them. Usually by people who make absolutely no effort for the environment…..

4/ “In fact I’m also a vegetarian, but I eat fish”

How do we explain… Fish is also an animal, therefore if you are a vegetarian, a real one, you don’t eat it! Despite the “special menu” in restaurants, where you see that the vegetarian starter is a smoked salmon bruchetta….

5/ “But you need iron to survive, what about food deficiencies?”

And bla bla blah. Except that you have plenty to say about the health risks of eating meat!

6/ “So you only eat salad and tofu then?”

Vegetarians are not rabbits! They can eat four cheese pizza, risotto, or omelettes, if their hearts so desire!
