The world of work is constantly evolving, depending on new technologies that are developed over time, for the better or for the worse. Naturally, we welcome many advances with open arms, such as developments in the field of healthcare. However, there are other ‘advances’ that mean certain age old careers are doomed to disappear, much to the displeasure of the people who are currently working in them, who will have no choice but to consider a change. 1/ Librarian
Books are set to all but disappear with the appearance of e-books and e-readers. Even if they don’t disappear completely, librarians are sure to be replaced by a computer that can be consulted at the library’s entrance and exit….
2/ Telemarketer
The poor telemarketers are sure to be soon replaced by robots….
3/ Insurance underwriter
You may have asked yourself what this career of the past actually entails? Because in fact, the job is not very well understood by the general public: the underwriter decides whether or not their company will ensure people or property.
4/ Watch and clock repairmen
Unfortunately for them, robots are due to become much faster at their age old skill.
5/ Bank teller
If the bank teller is the first person you meet in the bank, before long this person will be replaced (or already has been) by a computer or a robot.
