Both the prime minister and the minister for the Japanese Imperial Army, Hideki Tojo was found guilty of war crimes during the Second World War. Almost 5 million people were killed under his orders.
4/ Leopold II of Belgium
The second Belgian king is linked to the deaths of almost 15 million people, notably due to his various exploitation methods in the Congo (massacres, mutilations, slavery, etc. of the local populations).
3/ Adolf Hitler
As surprising as it may seem, Adolf Hitler is only third on the list, with an abominable 17 million people killed during his reign.
2/ Joseph Stalin
Second place on the podium goes to the famous communist dictator, Joseph Stalin, who caused famine, deportation, executions and more, and causing more than 30 million deaths.
1/ Mao Zedong
The most murderous of all dictators is none other than the communist founder of the People’s Republic of China, with an incredible number of deaths on his hands – almost 80 million (which is almost the equivalent of the current population of Turkey or Germany).
