The Summer holidays are in full swing. You’ve waited all year for this, and if you’re lucky, you’ll be headed for the Seychelles, Sardinia, or a Greek island. What is Summer for, if not tanning, sipping on cool drinks and dipping your toes in the water?
Do you spend most of the year on a countdown to your holidays? They are by far your favourite time of year, the time when you can let your hair down, make the most of the good weather and the sandy beaches. And you’re quite right! All you need now is a kill-joy to come along and try and spoil your fun…. Here are 11 phrases that nobody can stand hearing when they are on their precious holidays.
1/ So you’re still on holidays?
Even if it’s been a whole year since you took a day of annual leave. Some people have short memories. And special skills for irritating people.
2/ Some people have all the luck
Or some people work all year to pay for their well earned hols!
3/ Did you have a good holiday?
What do you mean, did I?? My holiday’s aren’t over yet! See you in a week!
4/ Good luck with going back to work!
Aaaargh!! Why would you mention work??? Why????
5/ You didn’t get much of a tan, was the weather bad?
Even though you were out in the sun all day every day! Don’t make me show you my tan lines….
6/ Can you put some cream on my back?
Okay, this one all depends on the circumstances, it’s true. But in general, having to cream someone else up and get your hands all sticky isn’t one of your favourite things!
