Smells especially good ones can bring back memories or contribute to our good mood.  Freshly ground coffee, toast, petrol or floral perfumes, are often considered as comforting scents. However do we all have the same nose for smells? Here are some scents that “should” be liked by all although some may be considered unconventional.
Tastes come from nature as do smells. While some hate the scent of lavender, others like it to the point of using it everyday to perfume their clothes. People are generally unanimous when it comes to bad odors.  A musty teenager’s room, sweat or the smell of a damp wetsuit are unlikely to please many. However there are lots of smells, some stranger than others, that we can all agree to like… or at least almost all of us!

1/ Wet ground and moisture after a storm

Don’t you love the smell that comes after a thunderstorm has drenched a tarmac road?

2/ Modeling clay

A permanent childhood memory.

3/ Petrol

Lots of people seem to like the smell of petrol when they pass by the petrol station… strange, but no judgement!

4/ Freshly ground coffee

The smell of freshly ground coffee is not the same as the smell of a hot brew.  Some hate coffee but love the smell of a packet of ground coffee!

5/ Toast

There isn’t a more delicious smell to wake you up in the morning!

6/ Horses

Strangely enough, it’s very rare to find a horse rider that doesn’t love the smell of their horse (or other peoples horses for that matter!)  That doesn’t include the smell of horse droppings of course…

7/ Sun cream in winter

How lovely to sniff a bottle of sun cream in winter!  A nice reminder of summer holidays just past…

8/ Pages of a new book or the front page of a notebook

You could have your nose in a book all day long without having to read a single line.

9/ The smell of your fart

You might hate the smell of other people’s farts but you don’t mind your own… a guilty secret we’ve never revealed until now!
