Despite increased awareness in terms of the environment, packaging appears to still reign supreme in the supermarket aisles. And manufacturers are not content with simply providing the basic minimum, but seem intent on using frankly shameful amounts of needless plastic. You only have to look at individually wrapped products promising “freshness”, with packaging within packaging, plastic inside cardboard, to see how ridiculous this is. And don’t tell us that plastic has conservation properties! A few extra hours in a wrapper isn’t going to make a difference!
