Christmas over your lifetime : 10 funny ways to look at the festive season

Edit: TheWonderlist

Does the magic of Christmas have the same effect on everyone regardless of their age?  It’s true that we don’t look at Christmas in the same way if we are 3, 20 or 60 years old…

For excited children the festive season means presents under the Christmas tree whereas for parents it means emptying every last penny of their wallet and making savings the month earlier so they can transform into Santa Claus.  But does the magic of Christmas work for all generations?  Here are 10 states that you can be in depending on your age… they’ll give you a laugh!

1/ At 4 years old: You are pulled between the idea that Christmas is the best day in the world and your fear of Santa Claus

Santa Claus is a strange person who can scare more than just a little baby.  However surely the presents that he brings and puts under the Christmas tree cover up any scary visions.  Especially other people’s gifts which always seem so much better.  You can feel the Christmas magic!

2/ At 7 years old:  You are now having doubts about Santa Claus but you are still overly excited on Christmas Eve

At 7 year old, we seriously start to ask questions.  Well it is the age of reason, isn’t it? However the excitement and prospect of presents makes you forget about the mystery surrounding Santa Claus.  Eating all that chocolate must have made you forget!

3/ At 10 years old: You get bored at the dinner table waiting desperately to go and play or watch Christmas films on the telly.

And then you tell all your younger cousins that Santa Claus doesn’t exist.  A case of revenge against your classmates who broke your heart at playtime telling you that he didn’t exist.  Not very nice that!

4/ At 15 years old: Ask your pals what they got for Christmas  by Messenger, texts etc and make yourself look good by listing your own.

You thank your grand parents for the very generous check that they gave you which seems to you to be a real fortune.  However, as all adolescents do, you spend it on various bits of rubbish… ah yes the magic of an adolescent Christmas!

5/ At 18 years old: You discover the joy of wine at the Christmas dinner table and jokingly try and chat up your cousins

Now who is going to eat their Christmas dinner without a glass of wine!  You are delighted that as a young adult you can join the rest.  You can also try and jokingly get merry with your cousins!
