We all know the importance of eating well however sometimes we forget that this involves more than just the type of food we eat.  Eating well can also mean having your dinner in a tidy kitchen, watching when we drink or even avoiding iced water altogether.  These basic habits can help improve your health and the health of your stomach.  Here are 15 bad habits that you should try and avoid so you can eat well!

Our western diet doesn’t always help our poor stomach. What with great festive spreads, fatty meats and cheeses it is often hard to resist.  That doesn’t even include all the tasty baking and sweet treats we have on offer which our body can sometimes struggle to digest.  These bad habits can sometimes lead to illnesses that you would even suspect.  However you should also take care of your body when you eat.  Here are some basic rules to follow when you eat so as to improve your digestion and keep yourself in good health.  The perfect way to eat well!

1/ Not wash your hands before you eat

Always remember to was your hands even if as a child you thought it was a bit of a chore.  You should wash your hands before eating a meal to stay in good health.

2/ Eat while holding in the urge to go to the toilet

If you desperately need to go to the toilet make sure you relieve yourself before eating whether it is breakfast, lunch or dinner.

3/ Go to bed two hours after eating

Never go to bed on a full stomach!  Leave a minimum gap of two hours after each meal before you go to sleep.

4/ Have your tea after 8 pm

Eating your evening meal too late makes it more difficult to follow the rule above.  Try and eat before 8 pm every night if you can so your body has time to digest.

5/ Drink lemon juice on an empty stomach in the morning

Lemon is great for your health.  However not everyone can handle drinking lemon juice on an empty stomach in the morning.
