At the beginning The Big Bang Theory didn’t cost alot of make, roughly $2 million an episode. Due to its success it has pushed the actors to request more money. A payrise that increased the cost per episode to $6million.
8. Game of Thrones
Surely the most popular series of the moment. To produce and episode of Game of Thrones, it costs about $6.5 million. The cast is large, but isn’t currently very expensive due to the relatively unknown actors, however the special effects of dragons etc. are costly. For season 7 and 8 it is estimated the main cast have negotiated $1.1million each per episode! They will be soon topping the leader board.
7. Camelot
Camelot is a series that only lasted 1 season and was filmed in Ireland. It was expensive to make due to the special effects , $7 million an episode.
6. Vinyl
This series is based in the 70s and cost a lot to produce this era, especially as the pilot cost $30million for two hours! Cost per episode was $8.7million
5. Rome / Marco Polo
Marco Polo is an expensive series made by Netflix, due to the special effects.
Rome, a series filmed in Italy, it was the decor that made it extremely expensive. A budget that was too high, season 3 got cancelled before filming began.
