16/ First memories
Our first memories can be stored from about three years of age. But the child needs to have mastered his or her mother tongue and understand temporal expressions such as “now”, “before”, “soon” and “in the future”.
17/ We learn from our past and from our mistakes
Neurologically speaking, memories play a very important role: they regenerate the same basic needs and reproduce the same behaviours and decisions in similar experiences.
18/ It is thanks to our fast reaction time that humans react very quickly to pain and to danger. Certain impulses can reach speeds of 40km/h in the nervous system.
19/ It is impossible to tickle yourself
When we go to put a hand on ourselves, the brain calculates the moment of contact in advance, and inhibits the signals to the nervous system from this part of the body. Therefore it is impossible to tickle yourself.
