14 tips using bicarbonate of soda that every woman needs to know

Bicarbonate of soda is mainly known for its uses in home made cleaning products. However, this white powder has plenty more strings to its bow. In terms of hygiene and beauty, it is hiding secret miracles! When we think of how long we’ve left it ignored in the presses… Well now you can make up for lost time!

1/ For greasy hair between washes

Sprinkle a little bicarbonate of soda onto your hairbrush and brush it through your hair. You can also sprinkle it directly on to your scalp, massage it in, leave it to work and brush it out (as you would with dry shampoo).

2/ To get rid of odours in your shoes

Pour some bicarbonate of soda into your shoes, leave it to work for a few hours and remove the excess before putting them on.

3/ To make your clothes smell good

Put some bicarbonate of soda into a muffin case or a coffee filter. Add scented spices (cinnamon, cloves, etc.) or a few drops of essential oil and close the top with an elastic. Put your perfumed sachet into your drawers or your gear bag to keep your clothes freshly scented.

4/ For removing fake tan stains from your skin

Mix bicarbonate of soda and lemon juice in equal parts. Rub the mixture to the relevant areas and watch the stains disappear.
