11. Nid d’hirondelle Castle, Ukraine
Swallow’s Nest is a neo-Gothic castle, located near Yalta, on the shores of the Black Sea, in Crimea. Built on the cliff of the Dawn, it overlooks the sea about forty meters in height and is a famous symbol of the peninsula of Ukraine.
12. Bran Castle, Roumania
Located in Transylvania not far from the border with Wallachia, it is a classified historical monument and a tourist place of Romania. The castle was once again the property of the Habsburgs, as it had been before 1918, at the time of Austria-Hungary. Bran Castle is also known as “Dracula Castle”.
13. Kilchurn Castle, Scotland
It is a castle in ruins dating from the fifteenth century located in Argyll and Bute, Scotland. In 1760, the castle was damaged during a storm and then abandoned. All in ruins, a tower and a turret, persist in the center of the courtyard, testifying to the violence of the incident. The reflections of its ruins in the waters of the lake make it one of the most romantic castles in the country.
14. Lichtenstein Castle, Germany
Built in the 13th century, the castle is located on the Albtrauf above the town of Lichtenstein, Germany. It is also called the fairytale castle of Württemberg. Built on a rocky outcrop defended by a natural cut, it was completely redone and decorated in the “troubadour” style in 1842. The castle became the home of many films, including “The Three Musketeers” by Alexandre Dumas .
