The Rio Games finished last year and it’s new facilities that were erected to accommodate athletes, spectators and trials in all their splendour are now left empty and like so many other Olympic villages are left completely abandoned. We are yet to know what will become of the unused buildings at Rio but here are some places around the world, seemingly haunted by some memories of victory, vestiges of a past athletic time.
