Google Earth is the reference tool which enables you to zoom in on anywhere around the world and Google maps allows you to have a view of every street. Apart from a few exceptions… The developers have hidden certain locations by blurring, at the request of some owners and governments. We present to you the 10 locations they have hidden from view.
1/The house of Ariel Castro, Cleveland, USA
This camouflaged house is located between two other houses and located in the state of Ohio. It is the home of the criminal Ariel Castro who help women captive for over a decade. The house has since been destroyed but it remains blurred by Google.
2/ The Nuclear side of Marcoule, France
The first French nuclear reactors were developed on an area stretching from the Gard to the Drôme. It was also here, from the 1950s, the plutonium necessary for the design of atomic bombs was produced. The site remains blurred by Google Maps.
3/ Sandy Island, South pacific
An island that doesn’t exist. An island that was recovered by a whaling ship in 1876, and was added to maps. However recent discoveries have found that it doesn’t exist, hence why google have camouflaged it from their maps.
